BJ Services Names New Ops Manager for Europe-Africa Region
BJ Services has appointed Bruce Campbell to the position of senior region operations manager – Europe & Africa Region with the Well Services Division. Previously, he held the position of Norway country manager in Stavanger. With 29 years of experience in the oil industry, Campbell co-ordinates operational requirements and compliance in the region.
Campbell joined BJ Services in 1996 when the company acquired his employer, Nowsco. Since then, he has worked for BJ as an operations engineer, progressing through a number of managerial roles, including the positions of UK country manager and Norway country manager, with responsibility for all well service operations carried out in those countries
He launched his career in the oil industry in 1979 in the Middle East before returning to the UK in 1980 to work offshore for a major service company in Aberdeen for four years.
He spent the next eight years with Britoil and BP, initially as a trainee and then in production process supervisory roles, working offshore on a number of UK locations before joining Nowsco in 1992
Originally from Strathclyde, Scotland, Campbell, 50, holds a Diploma in Management from the Open University, United Kingdom.
He is based in Aberdeen, and reports to Umberto Micheli, region manager – Europe & Africa Region for the Well Services Division of BJ Services.
