Gulf Western to Bring Pope #1 On Stream Shortly

Gulf Western Petroleum says that the Pope # 1 four-point flow test has been completed and the results are 254 Mcfd gas per day with a FTP of 1190 psi. on a 5/64" choke. The Pope # 1 will initially be produced from a four foot sand section from 3315'-3319'. The well is currently awaiting installation of production equipment and connection into the gathering system.

The Pope # 1 Gas Unit is part of the Brushy Creek V Natural Gas Project in Lavaca County, Texas. The Brushy Creek V Project is a two well project generated by utilizing newly acquired 3D seismic data. Each of the two new wells will test amplitude anomalies with strong trough over peak 3D seismic expressions. The Goodrich-Delaplain # 1 is the second well in this project and is currently undergoing completion and testing.

President, Sam Nastat stated, "We are very pleased with the success of our Gulf Coast Frio projects. The Dewitt County Shamrock Project is now completed with five of five successful wells, and our Brushy Creek IV, V and VI projects in Lavaca County are coming on line as we anticipated."
