He has also published his own private newsletter on emerging trends and direct foreign investment in Latin America and is the author of a forthcoming Pennwell book on enterprise risk management and information validation. Scott will be a featured speaker at the November Society of Petroleum Engineers conference with a presentation entitled: "Enterprise Risk Management in the Petroleum Industry Through Information Validation."

David Corbett, senior vice president of Lloyd's Register North America's Oil & Gas/Asset Management business, said: "Scott's broad business expertise in the field of risk management supplements our existing expertise in the technical and safety aspects of asset assurance, and is the foundation for strengthening our asset-performance-assurance business as a whole. We look forward to helping clients address a broad range of risk concerns associated with their major assets including commercial and reputational issues as well as the more traditional safety, health, and environmental areas."

Lloyd's Register is a leader in the field of integrity management, risk-based inspection, risk management and engineering consulting and provides services for offshore projects (including steel and concrete structures in fixed, floating, and mobile forms, as well as subsea completions, manifolds, interconnecting pipework, and controls), and downstream/onshore energy and process facilities (such as refineries, chemical/petrochemical process plant, and power generation facilities).
