Tullow Oil

Tullow Oil reports that Rohan Courtney, the group’s senior independent director, and chairman of the Audit Committee, is to step down from the Board on December 31, 2007.

Courtney joined Tullow and became chairman of the Audit Committee in 1993, when it was an Irish-listed company, and became senior independent director in 2000.

His role as chairman of the Audit Committee will be filled by David Williams, who joined the Board in 2006, and his role as senior independent director will be filled by Steven McTiernan, who joined the company in 2002.

Courtney has agreed to remain on Tullow’s Corporate and Social Responsibility Committee and as a trustee of one of the Tullow Group’s pension funds.

"Rohan Courtney has played a very large part in Tullow’s development and his experience in banking and finance has been of immense assistance to Tullow throughout his 14-year tenure," said Pat Plunkett, chairman of Tullow. "Rohan joined the Board when Tullow had a market capitalization of £35 million, and he has played an important role in each of the key milestones in our history."
