Baraka Appoints New FInance Director and Secretary /CFO

Baraka Petroleum has appointed Mr. Anthony Veitch as Finance Director (Non-Executive) and Mr. James Moran as Company Secretary and Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Veitch brings a wealth of experience to the Baraka’s Board of Directors. He has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Business Administration. He is currently an Executive Director of Citadel Capital, an investment and advisory business based in Perth. Prior to founding Citadel Capital, he worked with the Australian Securities Exchange, the London Stock Exchange and as a consultant to listed and private companies. His past experience includes a directorship of an unlisted oil and gas company with exploration interests in Indonesia that was successfully acquired by an ASX listed oil producer in March 2007.

The Company’s Executive Chairman, Mr. Max de Vietri said, "I am very pleased that Mr. Veitch has agreed to join the Baraka Board of Directors. His wealth of financial and market experience will add significantly to the Board’s expertise. This appointment completes the recent changes of Baraka’s Board and positions the company for the substantial challenges that Baraka faces in its new aggressive phase of growth. The shared vision of the new Board and the Executive team will have a major impact on building momentum for enduring success."

In addition the Board is also pleased to announce the appointment of James Moran as Company Secretary and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Moran holds a Bachelor of Business degree, is a qualified CPA, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and has a Diploma with the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Mr. Moran has had 25 years resources sector experience gained both throughout Australia and overseas in countries such as Ghana, Mongolia, China and New Zealand. In previous CFO/FC roles he has gained exposure across the resources spectrum covering green field exploration, construction, production and the closure of projects. He has extensive experience in the corporate areas covering capital raisings, investor relations, financial reporting, treasury management, compliance and risk management. His past responsibilities with resource companies have involved contract negotiations and management, project accounting, budgeting, administration, supply logistics, human resources functions and industrial relations.
