Tethys Oil Spuds Pierre Maubeuge 2 in France
Tethys has spudded the Pierre Maubeuge 2 (PLM-2) exploration well, onshore France and is estimated to last for about 20 days to reach a depth of 1,500 meters.
So far the well has reached a depth of 271 meters. The well is designed to explore for natural gas.
The Attila license is located in the oil and gas producing Paris basin about 250 kilometers east of Paris. Tethys has a 40% interest in the license with private French oil company Galli Coz S.A. having 60% and operatorship.
"We have some interesting and exciting weeks ahead of us. If successful, the PLM-2 well has the potential to be a very good complement to our project in Oman", comments Tethys Oil’s Managing Director Magnus Nordin.
