Nine Interested in Maloob Platform Tender

Nine companies had purchased bidding rules as of the eighth question-and-answer session for the PP-MALOOB-C drilling platform for the Maloob field in Mexico's Sonda de Campeche, according to tender documents on federal procurement website Compranet.

The E&P unit of Mexican state oil company Pemex (PEP) is in charge of the tender.

The companies are: Dragados Offshore de Mexico; Construcciones Mecanicas Monclova; Industria del Hierro; Swecomex; J Ray McDermott de Mexico; Construcciones y Equipos Latinoamericanos; Alan Dick Mexico; Servicios y Suministros Asociados de Minatitlan; and Comercializacion Internacional de Tampico.

Works entail the procurement, construction, testing, transport and installation of the platform.

The ninth meeting to clarify project questions is scheduled to take place September 13.

Bidding rules will be sold through September 21 and Pemex will receive bids on September 27.

Works are expected to begin on November 9 and require 510 days to complete.
