Roc Oil Adds New Non-Executive Director to the Company

Dr. Doug Schwebel has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director with effect from September 1, 2007. ROC is one of Australia's leading independent oil and gas companies operating in four main regions: Australia, China, Africa and the United Kingdom.

ROC's Chief Executive Officer, Dr. John Doran remarked, "Doug has a very high-standing reputation within and beyond the Australian upstream oil and gas industry, but no prior association with ROC. This is a positive and quite deliberate combination of circumstances designed to send a clear signal the ROC is continuing to implement a corporate refreshment process that it initiated earlier this year in response to its recent and continuing growth."

After 26 years with ExxonMobil, Dr. Schwebel retired from the position of Exploration Director of Esso Australia in 2006. Dr. Schwebel holds a BSc (Hons) from Sydney University and a PhD from Flinders University in South Australia.

Some of the positions that Dr. Schwebel held during his career allowed him extensive exposure to various petroleum systems and upstream petroleum management practices throughout the world. He was Exploration Advisor in Houston, Production Geology Manager in Sydney, Manager of Planning in Melbourne and International Planning Advisor in New Jersey; all with ExxonMobil. Dr. Schwebel also represented ExxonMobil on various Australian government, industry, and academic bodies; and has a high level of experience in corporate governance and asset acquisition due to holding board positions on several of ExxonMobil's upstream Australian companies.

ROC headquartered in Sydney, has a strong operating emphasis, and international focus and a core worldwide workforce of about 200 employees.
