Ocensa Pipeline in Colombia Attacked

Output from the Oleoducto Central SA or Ocensa pipeline has been halted due to an attack. Leftist rebels are suspected in the bombing. The pipeline is operated by BP and extends from the Cusiana-Cupiagua oil fields to the Caribbean port of Covenas. The pipeline was attacked near in area near the town of Aguazul in eastern Casanare province. Repairs should be completed by Monday.

The Cusiana-Cupiagua fields, which produce almost half of Colombia's total crude output of about 600,000 barrels per day, is operated by BP-led consortium which includes TotalFinaElf and Triton Energy.
