Antrim Spuds Third Causeway Well

Antrim Energy has commenced drilling the third well in Antrim's 2007 three-well program in Causeway in the UK North Sea.

The 211/22a-8 well will target the Ness sandstone sequence on the southwestern flank of the Causeway structure. 22a-8 is designed to appraise the West Causeway 211/22a-3 discovery made in 1984, which tested up to 5,500 barrels of oil per day from the Ness sandstones. The 22a-8 well will be drilled approximately 1.4 km northeast of 22a-3 to an estimated depth of 3,930 meters (12,900 ft). The well will take approximately 35 days to drill.

Participants in the Causeway Prospect are Antrim as operator with 65.5%; NOR Energy AS with 10.5%; GeysirPetroleum HF with 10%; and Valiant Petroleum with 14%.
