J. Rod King to Retire from Lloyd's Register

Lloyd's Register announces the retirement of J. Rod King, Global Floating Offshore Installation (FOI) Business Manager. Mr. King has elected to take early retirement in mid-September 2007 to address family health issues. Lloyd's Register North America FOI and Classification Manager, Keith Charles, will assume some of Mr. King's previous activities until Mr. King's replacement is named.

Lloyd’s Register continues to expand its Houston operations base to address the FOI classification and consultancy businesses in the Americas more fully, as well as to provide support for its Asia and EMEA regional offices. David Corbett, senior vice president of Lloyd's Register North America’s Oil & Gas/ Asset Management business, said that during his tenure with Lloyd's Register, Mr. King has made an immense contribution to the performance and leadership of the business. "Recent awards for classification and consultancy services on floating production, storage and offloading vessels and floating production units demonstrate local industry recognition of the service provided by Lloyd's Register in this area of offshore development. Rod has also made a tremendous contribution to our ability not to just class an offshore installation, but to make a positive contribution to the business success of the project for our clients."

Lloyd's Register is a leader in the field of integrity management, risk-based inspection, risk management and engineering consulting and provides services for offshore projects including steel and concrete structures (in fixed, floating, and mobile forms), sub-sea completions, manifolds, interconnecting pipework, and controls.
