Perupetro President: New E&P Round Planned for March
Peru's state hydrocarbons promotion agency Perupetro could launch a new E&P round in March 2008, state news agency Andina and government paper El Peruano quoted Perupetro president Daniel Saba as saying.
"Next year, there could be 15 blocks to auction, including those not offered to date and others already with offers from some companies," Saba said. Additional details were not provided.
An international road show will be held to promote the new round, he said.
Perupetro in July awarded 13 blocks from its 2007 E&P round in which 18 blocks were offered.
Contracts for these blocks will be signed shortly, increasing the number of signed contracts this year to 22 from 16 in 2006, he said.
