Reliance to Develop Krishna Godavari Field Next Year
Reliance Industries is now considering plans to develop its huge gas find in the Krishna Godavari Field. The company is proposing to commence development operations which would include drilling an estimated twenty-five wells.
RIL as an operator is seeking expertise from companies for all drilling related services, equipment and materials. It has also asked bidders for all offshore and onshore construction and installation services. According to RIL sources, "The prospects of the fields will be known only after drilling beyond 400-500 meters. We have invited expressions of interest from reputed companies with latest trends in technology in the areas of drilling related services." The operating water depth ranges between 400-2,000 meters and 2000-2,500 meters. Preliminary tests indicate that the gas reserve in the block is over seven trillion cubic feet.
Reliance, in partnership with Niko Resources, was awarded this block during the NELP-1 licensing round.
