Siemens Power Generation has been awarded two contracts from Brazil for a total of 17 compressor trains. Brazilian oil major Petrobras is to install six gas-turbine-driven compressors in a gas treatment plant in the state of Espirito Santo. PG is to deliver a further 11 compressor trains to the Brazilian company Transportadora Gasene S.A. for installation in three pipeline stations along the Brazilian coast. Total order value for Siemens, including spare parts and associated services for erection & commissioning, is approximately EUR75 million.

Brazilian oil major Petrobras is investing extensively in the oil and gas exploration and production area in the Espirito Santo Basin in southeastern Brazil. To process the gas produced offshore, Petrobras is building a gas treatment plant onshore at Cacimbas. For this project Siemens will supply six compressor trains, each comprising one STC-SV compressor driven by a 7.68-MW SGT-200 gas turbine.

After treatment the gas will be transported via pipelines to consumers in northeastern Brazil. Siemens will deliver eleven compressor trains for three pipeline stations along this pipeline. The 17 compressor trains for the two orders will be preassembled in the Siemens facility in Houston, Texas and delivered from there to the customer.

"This major order underlines the growing importance of the oil and gas business for Siemens," says Frank Stieler, Head of Siemens Power Generation Oil & Gas and Industrial Applications. "Thanks to our global facility network we are able to offer tailored solutions from a single source."
