Inpex Makes Discovery in Timor Sea

Inpex has confirmed a large natural gas discovery in the Masela prospect of the Timor Sea approximately 800 kilometers east of Kupang, Indonesia. The two appraisal wells, Abadi-2 and Abadi-3 tested at a total of 32.4 million cubic feet per day of natural gas.

Plans are now being made for the most efficient way to develop the field. The size of the Abadi structure can warrant various commercial development options such as a liquefied natural gas project, a gas-to-liquids project and gas sales via pipelines to Australia. Inpex is operator of the Masela prospect with a 100% interest.
