HB Rentals Scores Double Deal with Schlumberger

HB Rentals has further strengthened its relationship with international oilfield services provider Schlumberger in Mexico and Trinidad with two new deals worth more than US$230,000 (GBP £115,000).

HB Rentals is delivering four of its industry-leading fully customizable engineering cabins to Schlumberger's Trinidad operations, supplementing its existing fleet in the region.

The high-spec, fully customizable units are DNV certified, A60 fire and safety rated and meet the latest SOLAS and IMO fire regulations--meaning they comply with and surpass new offshore safety standards being enforced in Trinidad.

Schlumberger's technicians will use the cabins for logging and measurement (LWD/MWD) during drilling activities throughout the Trinidad and Tobago area on a yearlong rental contract.

HB Rentals' sister company International Snubbing Services, part of the Superior Energy Services group, will provide support for the units and all of HB Rental's customers in the area from its base on the islands.

In a separate six month deal, a further two engineering cabins from HB Rental's fleet of 35 in Mexico, have been delivered to Schlumberger's Ciudad del Carmen facility for MWD/LWD work it is carrying out for Pemex in various locations in the sector.

Vice president of operations for HB Rentals, Glenn Aguilar, said: "We have a long-standing relationship with Schlumberger in Mexico and Trinidad, through Duffy and McGovern Accommodation Services' work with them in the region.

"The extensive support network which exists through our sister firms, all of which are part of Superior Energy Services, ensures that clients have backup in-country when they need it most.

"Like HB Rentals, International Snubbing Services utilizes technology, innovation, and imagination to meet the changing needs of its clients and their involvement in providing support in Trinidad has been welcomed by Schlumberger."

HB Rentals, a division of Superior Energy Services, acquired Duffy and McGovern Accommodation Services and its global operations in January 2007. It has a continually growing fleet of offshore cabins, serving every region of the oil and gas industry and has relocated modules from its Canada base to meet demand in Mexico which demonstrates the flexibility of the standard engineering cabin design to work in the coldest and warmest locations.
