LPG Pipeline Explodes in Texas

A ChevronTexaco-owned LPG pipeline exploded in a rural area of Texas on Thursday. No injuries were reported. The company closed off valves at either end of the segment to stop the 14-inch pipeline's flow. The cause of the rupture is unknown at this time and an investigation is underway.

The section of liquefied petroleum pipeline that exploded was in a pasture, not near nay structures or people. The pipeline stretches from West Texas' Permian Basin to Mont Belvieu, Texas in the east.
