Allied Energy Names Coburn Board Chairman

Allied Energy Group, Inc. has elected Dr. Maurice W. Coburn, a retired environmental specialist, as its Chairman of the Board. Mr. Coburn had served on the Advisory Committee of Allied, and more recently as a member of its Board of Directors. He is a former General Counsel to the Midwest Region of the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

The election of Dr. Coburn as Chairman at the June Board of Directors meeting followed a decision by Allied to concentrate its future operations on the exploration for and production of energy products, particularly natural gas from its coalbed methane projects in northeastern Oklahoma. Methane gas is a cleaner burning energy source that power plants have an incentive to use as a replacement to other higher polluting fuels like coal. In recent years, the demand for natural gas has grown significantly, resulting in the explosive growth of exploration for natural gas and in particular coalbed methane natural gas.

Dr. Coburn will be working closely with Allied's President, Cole Halliburton, to develop the company's coalbed methane natural gas operations, especially in Oklahoma where Allied has quickly grown its operations to 17 producing wells, 7 wells being put into production and 39 wells planned for development in the next year. Dr. Coburn is the past President of the then Midwest Oil Production Company, Box Delta Corporation, and has served as General Legal Counsel to the United States Jaycees, headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Among his other activities, Dr. Coburn has served for four years as an assistant to the Governor of Illinois and as a Special Consultant to the White House on government efficiency.

"I am enthused about working with the Allied Energy Group, Inc. in expanding its production of methane natural gas as an alternative fuel source for both present and future power generation plants in the Western States," said Mr. Coburn. "After visiting our operations in Oklahoma, I came away with a renewed appreciation for the potential our company is poised to realize."

Maurice Coburn has been listed in Who's Who in Arizona, Who's Who in American Law, and Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. He was elected to the Board of Editors of the Illinois Law Review, and he has served as a Trustee of Taylor University.

"Mr. Coburn's vast leadership experience from serving in very high profile government positions, practicing law, and managing his own companies is an important contribution to the execution of our business strategy," said Cole Halliburton, Allied's President. "I have enjoyed working with Mr. Coburn and look forward to having his assistance in moving our company to the next level," added Halliburton.

Mr. Coburn holds a B.A., cum laude, from Taylor University, an M.B.A. from Northwestern University, and a Juris Doctorate from Northwestern University. Mr. Coburn resides in Paradise Valley, Arizona with his wife Marlene Coburn and is active with both civil and charitable organizations in the area.

Allied Energy Group, Inc. is an independent energy development firm primarily engaged in the exploration, development, and production of oil and natural gas in the continental United States.
