Antrim Spuds Second Medianera Well in Argentina
Antrim Energy inc. on Thursday said that drilling has commenced on the second of two exploration wells on its Medianera license in the Rio Negro Province in central Argentina. Antrim holds a 70% working interest in the Medianera license.
Based on 3D seismic acquired in 2006, the second well M3001 targets a Cretaceous sequence at a depth of 1,400 meters. The well, which is located 2km west of the first well (M3002), is expected to take approximately 14 days to drill.
The first exploration well (M3002) has been drilled to target depth and cased in preparation for testing with results expected in early July.
