ONGC Board Okays Platform Reconstruction
The board of India's Oil and Natural Gas Corp. Limited (ONGC) on Thursday approved the reconstruction of the NQO platform in Mumbai Offshore, which comprises the NQO, NQD and NQG platforms. The cost to revamp NQO is approximately Rs. 233 crore.
The NQO process platform is more than 20 years old. The Mumbai High North field is expected to produce Oil & Gas up to 2030, after the implementation of Mumbai High Redevelopment Project during 2001-07. The reconstruction is necessary to increase the life of the existing infrastructure facilities up to 2030. The revamping of the platform will also improve safety and efficiency.
The project is scheduled to be completed by April, 2009.
