Brinker Names Riddell Sales Engineer

After seven years in the electronics sector, David Riddell has made the leap into the subsea oil and gas sector by joining Brinker Technology as a sales engineer.

Best known for Platelets, a technology for leak location and sealing based on the human body's own healing mechanism, Brinker Technology is on course to become a multi-million pound international business. It is gaining a reputation for innovative engineering solutions and pipeline integrity in the global subsea oil and gas industry.

Riddell will spearhead the implementation of Brinker's ambitious international growth strategy, which focuses on the Gulf of Mexico and Norway. After graduating in 2000 with a MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, he worked for Agilent Technologies. More recently he was with Navman New Zealand in Auckland.

Commenting on his appointment, Riddell said: "The technology and the global potential in the subsea sector were very appealing to me. I am excited about the challenges of working within a more business development role in a company that has such revolutionary technology in a sector that is growing so rapidly.

"Brinker has successfully made the transition from academia to successful commercial entity carrying out offshore operations both in the UKCS and overseas. Our toolbox of pipeline integrity management solutions provide highly effective and proven ways of avoiding significant financial losses, minimizing environmental damage and reducing unnecessary system downtime."
