Saudi Aramco Makes New Oil Discovery
Saudi Aramco has discovered two new oil fields south of Al-Ghawar field in the eastern region of the Kingdom.
This was announced by Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Eng. Ali al-Naimi in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency.
Wells drilled at the fields, located south of Dhahran, tested at flow rates of 5,600 barrels a day and 5,569 barrels a day of heavy crude oil respectively, according to SPA. Appraisal wells also recorded flows of 2 million cubic feet a day and 8.2 million cubic feet a day of natural gas at the two fields, SPA said.
