Clough Wins Indonesian Gas Project from Premier Oil
Clough Limited's subsidiary PT Petrosea Tbk, has received a Letter of Intent jointly with PT Nisconi (a subsidiary of Nippon Corporation of Japan) for the A$125 million Gajah Baru Gas Export Project, located in the West Natuna Sea for Premier Oil Natuna Sea B.V.
"The Gajah Baru project is another landmark contract for the Clough Group and for Indonesia," Dr Brian Hewitt, Managing Director of Clough Limited said. Work on the project is already underway with a 10 week re-engineering phase. Once completed the full contract will be executed for the detailed design, procurement, installation and commissioning with completion and first production due in 24 months. Clough has previously worked with Premier Oil in Indonesia on the Kakap project and is currently working on the Myanmar Yetagun project.
The scope of the contract includes the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of an offshore production and compression platform and approximately 3 kilometers of 200 millimeter subsea pipeline inclusive of tie-ins.
"Oil and gas opportunities in Asia and in particular Indonesia are very promising and we look forward to further continued success in the region," Dr Hewitt said. As well as the Gajah Baru project, the Clough group has also recently won oil and gas contracts in Papua New Guinea, Thailand, Pakistan and the Bass Strait in Australia.
