ABB Wins Snohvit Subsea Contract

As operator for the Snohvit project in the Barents Sea, Statoil has awarded ABB Offshore Systems an engineering, procurement and construction contract for the supply of subsea equipment. Valued at approximately NOK 1.2 billion, the contract is based on one of the group's frame agreements for subsea equipment. It includes the supply of production systems comprising subsea templates, Xmas trees, pipe manifolds and control cables from land to the field. The main part of the equipment will be installed in 2004, while the control cables will be supplied in 2005, reports Siv Irene Skadsem, project manager for subsea production systems in Snohvit.

ABB has also been awarded a service contract in connection with the installation and operational phase of the equipment covered by the EPC contract. This service contract, which is also part of a frame agreement, has a value of approximately NOK 120 million.
