Repsol YPF Aims to Participate in Round 9
Spanish oil company Repsol YPF (NYSE: REP) is interested in participating in the 9th hydrocarbons licensing round in Brazil, Joseba Murillas, company director of exploration and business development for Argentina, Bolivia and Brazil, told BNamericas.
"We are very interested in taking part in round 9 and are just waiting for [hydrocarbons regulator] ANP to announce which areas will be available," he said on the sidelines of the Latin Upstream Conference in Rio de Janeiro.
"Repsol YPF has a big team and we have know-how in offshore projects. We are ready," he said.
Repsol YPF would continue its tradition of teaming up with other oil producers in the 9th round.
"We may be operators in some blocks if we take part in round 9 and if our bids are successful," he said.
The Spanish company is keen to focus on the Campos, Espirito Santo and Santos basins, where it already operates 11 blocks.
