RBG Wins Major Inspection Contracts
The first contract was awarded by Lloyd's Register EMEA and covers the provision of personnel and equipment for Non Destructive Testing (NDT) inspection and associated services on 3 assets in the North Sea. The contract is for an initial 3-year period, with two 1-year options. Delivery of services commenced in January 2007.
The second contract was awarded by iicorr, a specialist technology company in integrity, inspection and corrosion, and is for a 2-year period. RBG will provide a range of NDT equipment, rope access services and inspection personnel at a number of facilities in the Caspian region. A specific condition of the contract award is the capability to supply and train local personnel to a certified and recognized inspection standard, each year throughout the contract duration.
The comprehensive workscope includes onshore activities at the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline in the Republic of Georgia and at the Sangachal terminal in Azerbaijan, as well as offshore on the Azeri and Chirag Fields, also in Azerbaijan. Provision of services will commence in April 2007.
RBG's Chief Executive Officer, Doug Sedge, commented: "These contracts represent a key milestone for the ever-expanding inspection division and are a result of RBG's strategic focus on developing and extending its inspection business, both in the UK and internationally."
