Ransom Demand Made for Kidnapped Lukoil Executive

Russian newspapers have reported that Sergei Kukura's kidnappers have made a $6 million dollar ransom demand for his release. The Lukoil executive was kidnapped last Thursday on his way to work.

Lukoil says its "corporate policy" is to refuse to comment on media reports that Kukura's kidnappers had demanded ransom for his release, the spokesman said. Talking about such reports might further endanger Kukura, Lukoil believes.
