Cordoba Governor Meets Canadians, Plans Roadshow
Argentina's Cordoba province governor Jose Manuel de la Sota was due to begin meetings with Canadian executives on Monday regarding the prospective tender of 18 E&P blocks in various areas of the province, according to a provincial government statement.
De la Sota along with public information and special programs secretary Marcelo Falo will meet executives in Toronto and Calgary this week, according to the statement.
The pair met with Argentine oil and gas institute (IAPG) president Jose Luis Vitto in Houston this past weekend.
"[Vitto] proposed we organize a meeting with the main Houston oil companies that are interested... in the first days of May," Falo said in the statement.
De la Sota also met with Brazil's President Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva and of Brazil's federal energy company Petrobras (NYSE: PBR) president Jose Gabrielli in mid-March. The province aims to tender 18 areas. Bidding rules stipulate Cordoba's provincial energy company Epec holds up to 30% participation.
The tender is due to be launched around June, a provincial spokesperson told BNamericas, without providing further information.
