PSL Picks Up Caspian Contracts from BP
PSL Energy Services Ltd has secured a contract covering work on BP's offshore platforms, onshore terminals and pipeline systems in Azerbaijan and Georgia.
The contract with BP Exploration Caspian Sea Ltd is a strategically significant win for PSL as it supports ongoing BP operations in addition to the offshore platform construction projects which have formed the backbone of PSL's business in Azerbaijan.
Securing this seven figure contract should provide the Aberdeen-based oil and gas services company with a sustainable long term future in Azerbaijan, said PSL's regional manager for the Caspian, Tom Sherwin.
Mr. Sherwin said: "Since we established our business in Baku three years ago the mainstay of our work has been on offshore platform construction projects.
"This has been an excellent way of establishing our credentials as a first class, innovative service company, but this latest contract takes our Caspian business to a new level.
"It not only strengthens our relationship with BP but gives PSL a strong platform on which to build our business in Azerbaijan, Georgia and neighboring Caspian countries.
"Our long term commitment to Azerbaijan has been underpinned by a significant capital investment in building a new base in Baku and this latest success demonstrates this strategy is paying off."
The two year contract, with two one-year options, covers nitrogen helium leak testing, nitrogen purging, vacuum drying, bolt tensioning and onsite machining.
The workscope may also include high pressure water jetting, chemical cleaning and pressure testing.
