Fugro to Acquire Aerial Survey Imagery Producer
Fugro has signed a letter of intent to acquire 100% of the shares in MAPS Geosystems (MAPS). The transaction is subject to contract finalization and is expected to be completed in April 2007.
MAPS is a leading producer of aerial survey imagery with more than thirty years of operational experience throughout the Middle East and Africa. The company has its main operational bases in Sharjah, UAE and Beirut, Lebanon and employs 200 staff. Revenue in 2006 was US$16 million (EUR 12 million).
MAPS provides a wide range of survey services including aerial photography, terrain modeling, field survey and asset mapping. The company also develops geospatial software and distributes high-resolution satellite imagery throughout the Middle East and Africa.
MAPS' customer base comprises engineering companies, energy and utility providers, local and regional authorities, national governments and international development agencies.
