EMS Group Bolsters Workforce with Zaval-Tex Acquisition

Energy Maintenance Service Group, I LLC (EMS Group) has acquired Zaval-Tex, a pipeline maintenance company with an operational base in Beaumont, Texas, adding 300-plus highly skilled employees to the EMS Group workforce.

Zaval-Tex specializes in pipeline maintenance and related construction, pipeline rehabilitation and emergency response. Founded in 1986, Zaval-Tex has a proven track record for serving major pipeline operators throughout the Gulf Coast Region. "We're excited about becoming part of the EMS Family," said Denise Mott, President of Zaval-Tex. "Being part of EMS will give us the opportunity to provide a substantial range of additional pipeline services that will be available to our customers from day one," continued Kyle Mott, Vice President of Zaval-Tex.

"The EMS business strategy is to build on our position as a leading provider of integrated operations and maintenance services," said Tim Nesler, CEO of EMS Group. "EMS views Zaval-Tex as a key component of fulfilling our strategy due to their reputation and position within the energy industry. There is a growing demand for O&M services in the energy industry, and the acquisitions we undertake position us to further capitalize on this expanded market opportunity."

Over the past year EMS Group has acquired and transitioned four companies, and acquired the majority of the third party contracts operated by CenterPoint Energy Pipeline Services Inc., now operating as EMS Gulf Coast, LLC.

EMS Group provides a full range of O&M services to more than 200 blue chip energy customers including major pipeline operators, local distribution companies (LDC's) and independent power, oil and gas producers. EMS provides these integrated service offerings through six major service lines: Pipeline Management, Pipeline Integrity Management, Production & Pipeline Projects, Power Services, LNG/Natural Gas Services and Data Management.
