Argus Environment Oil in Water Monitoring Systems to Gullfaks B

ProAnalysis AS has been awarded a contract for two Argus Environment Oil in Water monitoring systems to the Statoil-operated Gullfaks B platform. The delivery will take place in 2007, and follows previous deliveries to Gullfaks A and C in 2006.

Argus Environment continuously monitors oil in produced water discharges to sea. The technology is built on laser-induced fluorescence as measurement principle, using an optical sensor and advanced algorithms to calculate the oil concentration. ProAnalysis' unique proprietary laser-based technology for automated maintenance makes the Argus robust and stable in an offshore environment. The delivery to Gullfaks B will also include ProAnalysis' new ultrasound-based technology for operations in challenging process conditions, scheduled to be ready in Q2-2007.

"We are very satisfied with the new contract with Statoil and Gullfaks," says Managing Director of ProAnalysis, Jarle Skeidsvoll. "It proves that Gullfaks finds our products satisfying and that Statoil is among the world leaders when it comes to environmental monitoring in practice. We look forward to deliver a robust and flexible system to Statoil, and to expand our activities further in 2007."

Argus Environment has been delivered to a number of installations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf since market introduction in 2005.
