Pemex Submits Burgos Basin Exploration Request
Mexican state oil company Pemex's E&P unit Pemex Exploracion y Produccion (PEP) has submitted a hydrocarbons exploration request to energy ministry Sener for the Burgos basin integral project, the country's official gazette reported.
PEP will carry out the Pandura Sur 3D surface seismic exploration study in a 458 sq km area in Nuevo Leon state, the report said.
The high-resolution seismic data will help PEP define underground structural and stratigraphic characteristics to confirm possible hydrocarbons-bearing traps, the report said.
Landowners in the area Pemex plans to explore have 30 days to submit objections.
