Goodrich Petroleum Makes Discovery on Sullivan East Prospect
Goodrich Petroleum made a new discovery on its Sullivan East prospect at West Delta 83 field in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana.
The Company has drilled and logged 82 feet of net pay in three separate zones in its Sullivan East prospect at West Delta 83 field. The Goodrich Petroleum Company -- S.L. 1009 No. 1 well was drilled and logged to a total depth of approximately 10,900 feet and encountered pay in the 10100', 10500' "A" and 10500' "B" sands. This is the first well drilled in a multi-well drilling program scheduled for the Burrwood and West Delta 83 fields since the Company acquired a 41 square mile 3-D seismic survey over the fields in late 2001. All of the reserves discovered by this well were previously classified as exploratory and were not included in the company's year-end booked reserves. The Company has set pipe to total depth and currently plans to deepen the well an additional 200 feet to test the MF sand prior to completion. Additional information on the well will be released upon commencement of production. The Company owns a 65% working interest in the well.
Upon completion of the S.L. 1009 No.1 well, the Company plans to immediately commence operations to drill its Liston prospect in West Delta 83. The Liston prospect is designed to test the 10,100' and the MF sands and be drilled to a total depth of approximately 11,000'.
The Company also announced the successful recompletion of its S.L. 2227 No. 1 well in West Delta 83 field. The well was recently recompleted into the CP-3 sand. The well commenced production in July and is currently producing approximately 1.1 million cubic feet of gas per day on an 8/64-inch choke with approximately 1700 psi.
