Court Orders Ecopetrol to Halt La Gabarra E&P
Colombia's constitutional court ordered state oil firm Ecopetrol temporarily to halt exploration and production activities in La Gabarra in Norte de Santander department, according to company officials and local media.
Newspaper La Republica reported the ruling on Thursday, saying it was to protect the indigenous Motilon Bari.
Company officials at Ecopetrol headquarters in Bogota confirmed the court's decision to BNamericas but declined to provide additional details.
