At Balance Wins Second Offshore Energy Achievement Award

At Balance Americas LLC has won the Offshore Energy Achievement Award for its Dynamic Annular Pressure Control (DAPC) System technology in the Field Life Extension category. The award was presented to At Balance at a ceremony held to recognize contributions made in 2006 by people and companies across the oil and gas industry. This is the second Offshore Energy Achievement Award that At Balance has won in the three years the awards have been presented. In 2005, the DAPC system won the award for its achievement in Emerging Innovation/Technology.

Oil companies have been able to reach oil and gas stranded in mature reservoirs by unconventional pressure conditions thanks to the DAPC system, while the technology also drives cost savings, safety improvements and well control risk reduction.

"Dynamic Annular Pressure Control is fundamentally changing the way pressure is managed in oilfield drilling, and this prestigious award is further proof of this technology's impact on how operators can extend the up-time of their producing assets," said John G. Samuell Sr., president and chief executive officer of At Balance. "North Sea and deepwater Gulf of Mexico operators are using At Balance automated pressure drilling services to extend field development beyond conventional limits. Winning this award is recognition for our operations and engineering teams and At Balance's commitment to innovation in pressure management."

With the DAPC system technology, oil and gas companies can safely manage downhole pressure while drilling within planned, preset limits. Pressure stability is achieved via critical automation and integrated control allowing drillers to expand their prospects while lowering their mud costs and improving well control.

At Balance Americas LLC, based in Houston, Texas, is the sole provider of automated pressure drilling services with the Dynamic Annular Pressure Control (DAPC) system.
