Pemex Submits Burgos-Muzquiz Exploration Request
Mexican state oil company Pemex's E&P unit Pemex Exploracion y Produccion (PEP) has submitted a hydrocarbons exploration request to energy ministry Sener for the Burgos-Muzquiz project, the country's official gazette reported.
PEP will carry out the Ulua-Progreso 3-D surface seismic exploration study in a 900 sq km area of the Burgos basin in Coahuila state, the report said.
The high-resolution seismic data will help PEP define underground structural and stratigraphic characteristics to confirm possible hydrocarbon-bearing traps, the report said.
Landowners in the area Pemex plans to explore now have 30 days to submit objections, the report added.
