Perupetro Set to Accept Bids for 18 Blocks

BNamericas

Peru's state hydrocarbons promotions agency Perupetro will receive letters of intent (LOI) and qualification documents from companies through May 25 to explore 18 blocks, according to the bidding rules posted on Perupetro's website.

The agency will receive economic and technical bids on July 9, opening technical bids the same day.

Companies must conduct 10-500km of 2D seismic survey work and at least two exploratory wells in addition to the minimum work program established for each block.

Perupetro will open economic bids July 12.

If all goes smoothly in awarding of the blocks, acquiring permits and carrying out environmental studies, winning bidders could begin exploration on the blocks at the beginning of 2008, BNamericas previously reported.

Information regarding specific blocks and their minimum work programs can be found at Perupetro's website.
