DONG Takes Over Operatorship of Siri Field
|Thursday, August 08, 2002
On Thursday, 1 August, DONG's flag was run on the Siri platform in the North Sea, officially marking DONG's takeover of the operatorship on the Siri and Stine fields. The takeover comes after DONG's acquisition of Statoil's exploration and production activities in Denmark. Besides DONG, the consortium behind the Siri field comprises Paladin and DENERCO OIL.
In 2003, work will start on an enlargement of the Siri platform to enable the oil produced from two new fields, Nini and Cecilie, to be shipped from the platform.
