Jefferies' coverage of the Energy and Alternative Energy/Clean Technology sectors consists of fourteen senior analysts in equity, high yield and convertible securities focused on exploration and production, oil services and drilling, shipping, logistics, energy transportation, gas utilities, electric utilities, and emerging technologies in the nuclear, solar and wind industries, as well as batteries and fuel cells. This continued expansion of resources demonstrates Jefferies' overall commitment to this strategic and thriving segment of the global economy.

"Subash Chandra's focus is very complementary to our E&P practice," commented Steven R. Black, Director of Equity Research at Jefferies. "His reputation for stock analysis and deep relationships in the industry will bring immediate value to our institutional clients."

"I'm delighted to become part of Jefferies' strong franchise in Energy," said Mr. Chandra. "The firm's industry leading position in small and mid-cap equities and breadth of capabilities were key factors in my decision to join."
