Chavez: Ramirez to Remain Energy and Oil Minister
Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez has confirmed Rafael Ramirez will keep his post as energy and oil minister.
"I ratify Rafael Ramirez in his post," Chavez said during a televised speech. Ramirez also is president of state oil company PDVSA.
The president last month requested and received the resignation of his ministers, including Ramirez, as part of a government shakeup for his new term.
The ministers stayed in their current posts, waiting for replacements to be assigned and approved. But Chavez has now confirmed all his ministers will stay on, except interior minister Jesse Chacon and finance ministry Nelson Merentes.
