Enap: Chanarcillo Well Output Could Jump 25%

Business News Americas

Chile's state oil company Enap reported production has begun at the Chanarcillo field's well 36 in southern Region XII.

Chanarcillo currently provides 6.1% of Enap gas production in the region, and tests from well 36 indicate field output could increase 25%, the company said in a statement.

Drilling of the well began on November 25 and reached total depth of 2,200m on December 13. Well 36 is part of works aimed at extending the field's lifespan.

The Enap unit that drilled the well will be transferred to the Dorado-Riquelme block to drill the area's first exploratory well, Baqueano A, the statement said.
