West Prospero Safely Delivered to Singapore

The safe discharge of West Prospero meant the end for Fairmount Marine of a season long campaign assisting this rig during its drilling program offshore Sakhalin. Fairmount operated barge Ocean Seal under tow of Fairmount Alpine transported the rig from Singapore to Japan earlier in the year. The last leg of the voyage to Sakhalin was done under tow by Fairmount Alpine, which tug remained with the rig during its drilling campaign providing transportation services. After completion of the drilling campaign, which lasted longer than expected, the Fairmount Alpine was replaced by Smitwys Rotterdam which towed the rig back to Japan, where Fairmount operated semi-submersible barge Ocean Orc was waiting to commence the dry tow back to Singapore.

Fairmount Alpine had to present herself in Korea for the tow of BP's Greater Plutonio FPSO to West Africa and hence Fairmount's chartered-in towing vessel Smitwys Rotterdam took over.
