BJ Services Wins Work Offshore Cote d'Ivoire from CNR
BJ Tubular Services has been awarded a contract by CNR International (Cote d'Ivoire) S.A.R.L., a subsidiary of Canadian Natural Resources Limited, to provide a range of well services offshore Cote d'Ivoire, Africa. The two-year contract provides for casing and tubing running services, pipe yard services, and onshore completion assembly services for all 12 wells on CNR's Project West Espoir wellhead tower located offshore Abidjan.
BJ Tubular Services is providing all services from its facilities in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire. The scope of work includes running 13% chrome tubular completions from the Al Baraka 1 tender-assisted drilling barge. BJ will employ its Chromemaster power tongs and specially modified screen liner running tongs.
Onshore, BJ will carry out completion assembly services using the company's transportable Series 2000 bucking unit with Chromemaster jaws at its base in Abidjan.
"With the success of the conductor driving operation we carried out with our Rigless Intervention System (RIS) for CNR on this development, it is very satisfying to be given the opportunity to continue working on their behalf in Cote d'Ivoire," said Kenny Watt, division manager of BJ Tubular Services.
In late 2005, BJ Tubular Services used its RIS technology to pre-install 12 conductors and supply cold cutting services on this development for CNR without a rig. The operation was successfully completed a full 10 days ahead of schedule.
BJ Tubular Services specializes in providing personnel and equipment for running casing and tubing, particularly premium connections, high-chrome-content tubulars, dual, triple and subsea completions, as well as hydraulic hammer conductor and caisson-driving services.
