BJ Services Wins Sakhalin Work

BJ Tubular Services has been awarded a contract by KCA Deutag Drilling LLC on behalf of Sakhalin Energy Investment Company (SEIC) to provide hammer conductor-driving services offshore Sakhalin Island.

BJ will be pre-installing all conductors for SEIC for the Sakhalin Phase II Project on the Lunskoye-A and Piltun-B platforms using two of BJ's hydraulic S200 Hydrohammers. The operation will be supported by BJ personnel and state-of-the-art equipment from BJ's base in Singapore.

The multi-million dollar contract is scheduled for completion in 2010.

BJ Tubular Services enjoys a long-term relationship with KCA Deutag that began in the early 1990s. The recent contract award, however, represents the first time that BJ Tubular Services will have carried out hammer services for the drilling specialist.
