Tap Oil reports that the Bricklanding-1 exploration well, located in the Carnarvon Basin Offshore Western Australia, will be plugged and abandoned.

The well had drilled ahead to a Total Depth of 3,131 meters measured depth. Only minor gas shows were observed at the objective levels.

Bricklanding-1 tested a significant low side fault closure against the Flinders fault. The results of Bricklanding-1 will now be integrated into the understanding of the prospectivity of TP/7. After Bricklanding the rig will move to the Harriet Joint Venture to drill appraisal wells in the Bambra area.

TP/7 Participants are Apache Oil Australia as operator with 20%; Tap with 12.474%; Santos as technical operator with 63.369% and Pan Pacific Petroleum with 4.157%.
