Two workers were killed and five others injured in a blast at the flaring tower of a refinery owned by Petrobras, the company reported. The explosion did not affect output from the plant, according to a Petrobras spokesman. The blast occurred at the Gabriel Passos refinery (Regap) in central Minas Gerais state during maintenance operations. Regap produces 22.5 million liters (5.9 million gallons) of fuel, including naphtha, gasoline and diesel. All the victims were employed by the engineering firm, Potencial Engenharia, a Petrobras' subcontractor. Petrobras said the injured have been hospitalized and are in stable condition.
