Ministry: Blocks 20, 29 Ready for Petroecuador Analysis
Initial studies of blocks 20 and 29 in Ecuador's Amazon region are ready for state oil company Petroecuador to analyze in the lead-up to tender launches, the country's energy and mines ministry said in a statement.
Block 20 is on the western flank of the Napo-Galeras mountain chain and contains the Pungarayacu and Oglán fields, the statement said.
Reserves of heavy crude in the block are estimated at some 395MB, 315Mb from Pungarayacu.
Block 29 is primarily exploratory and is in Pastaza province to the west of blocks 7 and 21.
Both blocks produce 8-12 API grade crude.
