Petrobras to Declare Three Fields Commercial by Year-End
Brazil's federal energy company Petrobras (NYSE: PBR) plans to declare commercial feasibility of three offshore natural gas and oil fields by year-end, a company spokesperson told BNamericas, confirming press reports.
Two of the gas fields are close to the existing Golfinho gasfield in the Espirito Santo basin's northern region, press quoted company E&P director Guilherme Estrella as saying.
Each of the two fields could potentially produce 10Mm3/d, a company spokesperson said, adding the figure is an initial estimate that will have to be confirmed by detailed appraisals.
The third field is in the Campos basin's northern region, close to the existing Jubarte field, which produces heavy crude. Initial estimates peg potential production in the new field at some 100,000b/d.
