Key Appointments at Aker Kvaerner Subsea

Aker Kvaerner Subsea has made a series of key appointments within its Aberdeen center for global excellence in subsea control systems.

Derek Donaldson and Les Bartlett join the business as sales account managers, with Angela Bennett now working as marketing officer alongside John Cruickshank, sales and marketing manager for the UK.

John Cruickshank said: "We are excited about the expansion of the sales and marketing team. This will significantly increase support to our existing customers and enhance our business development activity."

Frank Scott also joins as control systems tenders and risk manager, bringing with him a wealth of experience including proposals management roles with Subsea 7, Halliburton Subsea and DSND Subsea Ltd. Frank said: "I look forward to my new challenge in working with Aker Kvaerner Subsea and continuing the close working relationship with sales & marketing to continue to improve value to our customers."

Alistair Birnie recently joined as systems and technology manager. With 25 years' experience in developing, applying and supporting technology and operations within the offshore oil and gas industry, Alistair previously worked for Aker Kvaerner Subsea Limited as Engineering Manager between 1996 and 1998 and has since been employed in managerial roles with Nautronix Ltd and Insensys. Alistair is vice-chairman of the Aberdeen branch of the Society for Underwater Technology.

Significant business growth during the last 18 months has seen Aker Kvaerner's employee numbers grow by around 45% to 750 in Aberdeen.
